The right question is not simply whether an online PDF tool is safe. It is what data the service receives, where it goes, how long it remains available, and which controls your organization requires. Review those details before uploading a sensitive document.

How Convert for You jobs work

Convert for You uses a protected job link to report progress and provide a completed result. Uploaded files and temporary outputs are processed for the selected workflow and removed according to the configured retention policy. A download link is not a document archive, so save results you need to keep.

External providers matter

Some workflows use Google Drive or Dropbox imports, translation providers, webpage rendering, or OpenRouter for AI summarization. AI summarization sends extracted selectable text to the configured provider. Avoid confidential, personal, regulated, or contractually restricted documents unless that processing is approved.

Protect your own workflow

Use Protect PDF for password encryption and Redact PDF when content must be permanently removed. Keep the original, use a least-privilege account, and do not share job links publicly.

Review the output

Security is also a review step. Open the result, verify pages and text, check that redacted content cannot be selected or copied, and confirm that the output does not contain unexpected metadata or attachments.

Read the full Security and File Handling guide for the product’s current behavior. Policies and provider configurations should be reviewed by your organization before production use.
