PDF translation is a balance between language quality and document layout. Before starting, identify the source language, target language, and whether the translated file needs to preserve the original page design.

Prepare the source

Use a text-readable PDF when possible. A scanned document may require OCR PDF before translation. Keep tables, names, legal terms, and technical vocabulary in mind because they may need human review.

Translate with Convert for You

  1. Open Translate PDF.
  2. Upload the source PDF.
  3. Choose the source language or allow detection when available.
  4. Choose the target language.
  5. Select the available translation provider for your account.
  6. Download and review the translated PDF.

Provider availability and limits can vary by account and configuration. A translated PDF is a new output file; the source remains the reference for checking meaning and layout.

Review language and layout

Compare headings, table cells, page breaks, links, numbers, and text direction. Translation can expand or contract text, which may move content onto a different page. Names, product terms, citations, and legal language deserve special attention.

Keep the original

Save the source and translated files together with a clear language code in each filename. For editing rather than direct translation, consider PDF to Word and have a qualified translator review the final text.
